Trail Ridge Road (US Hwy 34), an "All-American Road,"
is one of the great alpine highways in the US. The 48 mile stretch connects
the Estes Park valley on the east and the Kawuneeche Valley on the west.
The road's winding course, an engineering phenomenon, takes you across
the 12,183 foot spine of Tombstone Ridge. It is the highest continuous
paved road in the US. |
