We began our exploration with a rainy drive. Ann was looking
forward to taking a great picture of "Big Thompson" in Big Thompson
Canyon by the Big Thompson River. Unfortunately the rain wrecked our picture
plans. The clouds broke for a brief time just before nightfall so we began
our exploration with a gorgeous drive and a brief hike. What a wonderful
introduction to the Rockies and the dive-bombing hummingbirds whose very
favorite color is red..
